The dollar increased by 10 paise to Rs 278.70 in the interbank market and by 12 paise to Rs 280.32 in the open currency market.

According to the Exchange Companies Association, the Euro rose by Rs 1.46 to Rs 297.55 while the British Pound rose by Rs 1.16 to Rs 352.33.
Similarly, the value of Saudi Riyal rose by 21 paise to Rs 73.70 and UAE dirham increased by 6 paise to close at Rs 75.62.
